Opal Spaces: Artists / Location

Opal Spaces: Artists / Location is an experimental program that couples artists with a location. Taking place in unconventional settings these location-responsive exhibitions give the participating artists the freedom, joy and autonomy to install and present their works completely in accordance with their own creative imagination, thoughts and ideas.

Upcoming exhibition

Soft Intimacies & Earthy Sites

Exhibition period: October 7 - October 14, 2022. Participating artists: Julie Sass, Marianne Therese Grønnow and Dorte Jelstrup

The exhibition Soft Intimacies & Earthy Sites thematizes new and utopian relationships between subjects, bodies, earth, landscapes and nature characterized by dimensions such as intimacy, care and sensuality.

Soft Intimacies & Earthy Sites allow the audience to experience different takes on artistic integrations of the humane, the mental and the environmental expressed as reformulations of our relations with the earth and nature presented as non-dominant ecologies, plural voices in the landscape, feminine charged sections of soil, erotic soils, geographies pervaded by dreams, the air of nights marked by longing and the tactile care of hands for the forest.

Soft Intimacies & Earthy Sites focus artistic and imaginative non-exploitative approaches to nature in a broad sense, where human beings have renounced their power over nature in favor of a coexistence in which the inner and the outer are intertwined in new life forms and other climatic worlds.
